Sharyne Tu, Photographer

I have always danced to the beat of a different drummer. Through my photographs, you will see images of everyday life viewed from a different perspective — my perspective.

My passion for photography began as a child when I perused through National Geographic, Life and Look magazines. I remember images of African pygmy tribes, victims of leprosy, and glorious photos of beautiful people and places. It is with these memories that I set out to capture images that reflect my personality and that of the subjects of which I am focusing; whether it be people, animals, landscapes or events.

I have also developed a passion for travel, which complements well with photography. Prague, Hong Kong, Venice, Beijing and Thailand — these are some of the amazing cities I've visited. I look for that unique shot which captures the moment, including in my own back yard — the great city of Chicago.

Carpe Diem — that is what I do and I love doing it.
